1) Do you make these for camping equipment use in your historical recreation, or for art's sake? Just curious. :) I'm plotting to make mine for use.

2) Do you bother getting the oxidation off? I never do, but my horses are going to wear it off anyway so there'd be no point. If you do, how do you do it?

1) yes, i made this one for a lady in my reenactment group, any art is just an added bonus.

2) Yes, i wire brush and bees wax the handle. polish the face then season it just like a frying pan. they work great
